Sensations
Giclee on Canvas, 48" x 36"
Hessam Abrishami’s
Sensations bursts with vibrant colors, yet there is a peacefulness that is conveyed through the relaxed human forms. The muted hues that ground the bottom region of the image also serve to balance the volume of the super-saturated moments of red, yellow, orange, purple and green. The human figures, in close proximity to one another, participate in a shared experience of human touch, warmth of the sunlight, and musical melody, as they gracefully move together through the colorful space. So aptly titled,
Sensations (the experiences of perceiving stimulus), this piece reveals the beauty of the lived experience. Abrishami conveys to his viewing audience the rapture that he portrays his subjects experiencing. As we project ourselves into the space,
Sensations becomes a shared experience and we can delight in the beauty of perceiving color and form as well. In this way, the plurality of the title invites us to identify with Abrishami’s celebration of stimulation and perception.
